How to prevent a disease in your lawn

There are no guarantees that you will not get a disease in your lawn at some point in time, however things that you can do to help prevent them are: 

• Correct mowing: Mow regularly at the correct height for your grass type.

• Watering: Water deeply but less frequently to encourage deep root growth.

• Fertilisation: Apply fertilizer according to the grass type and soil test results. We can provide a tailored treatment programme for your lawn.  

• Thatch control: Dethatch your lawn regularly to remove excess thatch. Scarification will remove thatch in your lawn.

• Aeration: Improve soil drainage by aerating your lawn. Aerating your lawn will relive compaction and aid water circulation and nutrient uptake. 

• Fungicides: In severe cases, a fungicide may be necessary. Once we have identified the disease we can treat accordingly.
